Write for The Stu
Are you a budding journalist or chef? We are always looking for keen students to be included in upcoming issues from full page articles to reviews and recipes.
If you are interested in writing for The Stu all you need to do is apply!
Simply follow the simple application rules below and submit your work to the editor.
Applications are open at all times (if you miss the deadline we'll just consider you for the next issue or include you online). Those with the best applications will be asked to interview for potential further articles, features or even regular columns.
Unfortunately we won't be able to provide feedback for everyone's applications.
Application Details
In your application you are asked to submit a recipe. Your Recipe should be 100-200 words, including a list of ingredients, approx cost & approx time. The more original in style the better. Remember your target readership!
Those with the most entertaining recipes will be contacted for a skype interview and potential further submissions, interviews and features.
We will aim to contact you within 7 days of your submission.
• We are looking for both regular columns as well as one-off input
• Cite your sources where appropriate. We prefer parenthetical in-text citations. Alternatively, footnote citations are also fine.
• Use two line breaks (double spacing) to indicate paragraph breaks.
• For any other special formatting, please include an explanatory note.
• Submissions which are not properly formatted and including glaringly obvious spelling & grammar errors may not be read.
• Photos for recipes and articles are accepted on the same submission terms (they MUST be original - NO google images please!)
• We prefer not to heavily edit your work. If we feel your submission requires significant editing we will return it with notes and recommendations. Please try and fix all typos and grammar before submission.
